Drive, ambition, and competition filled the air in freshly reopened halls. The 2025-2026 Fischer High School (FHS) year had begun. The advent of the Class of 2030 came with immense benefits. Soon after their arrival, the administration announced the annual club extravaganza. This extravaganza provides students with a club fair to navigate and explore the various extracurricular activities FHS offers. This event was a resounding success in many ways. Club rosters filled up, initiatives emerged as pillars of the school — such as Pickleball, Baking, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Acing Autism and the Cupboard — but the real success was the growth of competitive clubs. Competitive clubs are any clubs that take part in an organization that facilitates competition in a specific interest. The main competitions Posnack offers include FBLA, Mock Trial and Model UN.
FBLA, in particular, provides students with an opportunity to improve in any area of business they are interested in. FBLA “events” are categorized as either a presentation/role-play event or an objective test. Students are required to delve into a topic of their choice. These competitions require students to practice or study depending on their topic. FBLA offers students a wide range of events to choose from. The options stem far beyond the typical marketing, finance, accounting and management pathways that come to mind when thinking about business topics. Some unique and general topics include a Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign, data science and AI, social media marketing, finance, real estate, and much more. The following stories of students in this competitive club serve as inspiring examples of the unique topics covered by FBLA.

Although she is highly interested in medicine, junior Madison Morgan felt an urge to explore a business club. She followed her intuition and scrolled through FBLA’s list of topics to choose from. Determined to find an intriguing topic, she sat for hours. Finally, one caught her eye: health administration. “FBLA has given me an opportunity to see where medicine and other areas of practice can work together,” Madison said. Although she had never realized they could coincide, her interests combined into the perfect competition topic. Not only did Madison gain exposure to a new field, but she also worked continuously to gain first place in the district competition. Now, Madison has the opportunity to attend the FBLA Florida state competition and compete for a bigger title. Madison’s story is meant to inspire Posnack students to explore something foreign or scary; it may be the best decision you’ll ever make.

Furthermore, Madison is not the only unique case in the FBLA club. Juniors Lior Kliksberg and Yonathan Benarush Gal are enthralled by anything coding-related. When scrolling through the list of FBLA topics, Mobile App Development immediately caught their eyes. When the boys realized they could combine their love of code and creation with business, they were ecstatic. They signed up, coded their app and were given the opportunity to present it to a Microsoft executive. This competitive club has provided them with unexpected growth in various interests.
An additional unique story is that of freshman Jonathan Reinstein. Jonathan chose the public speaking track through FBLA, stating, “Being in FBLA Public Speaking feels like everything has come full circle. I’ve loved speaking in front of a crowd since I was little, and every competition just reminds me that this is where I’m meant to be. I truly think I was born with a love for public speaking, and I’m just getting started!” Public speaking was always a genuine interest of Jonathan’s. Therefore, when he stumbled upon the opportunity to compete in such a topic for FBLA, he was elated. Jonathan’s intrigue exemplifies the spirit that encompasses not only every FBLA member but also every Fischer High School student. FBLA and public speaking are just outlets for his energy, and as stated, he’s just getting started as part of the wonderful aforementioned Class of 2030.
Madison, Lior, Yonathan and Jonathan are unique examples of the range of topics that FBLA offers students. Students are given the opportunity to gain unique experiences, explore unfamiliar career paths and learn the skills needed to succeed. Most students are unaware of the range of topics FBLA has to offer. This truth shows that students should explore as much as they can, especially with the tools Fischer High School generously offers them. If a student does not have specific interests, such as coding or medicine, there are various other subjects they may have never heard of before exploring them.
